For the complete dismantling of the AVR experimental reactor in Jülich, the Committee prepared a draft statement according to the request for advice [14 KB] (in German). This draft was discussed and agreed upon in the ESK and adopted as statement [128 KB] (in German). The Commission on Radiological Protection (SSK) adopted its statement on the dismantling of the AVR at its 231st meeting on 09./10.12.2008.

In 2010, the Committee on DECOMMISSIONING (ST) prepared a draft for the “Guidelines for the decommissioning of nuclear installations”, thus having complemented and updated the statement of the Reactor Safety Commission (RSK) of 15./16. December 2005 in agreement with the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMU). The draft text of the Committee was consulted on within the EXK and adopted as a recommendation [163 KB] (in German).

In 2011, the Committee on DECOMMISSIONING (ST) prepared, in accordance with a request for advice, a draft statement on decommissioning and dismantling of the Obrigheim nuclear power plant (KWO), 2nd decommissioning and dismantling licence. This draft was discussed within the ESK and adopted as a statement [64 KB] (in German).

The consultations within the Committee ST on the topic of “completion of decommissioning projects” have been completed for the time being; they were used to form opinions on safety-relevant issues.
